In a post on Truth Social, US President Trump said, United States will now control the Strait of Hormuz and commercial vessels must pay a 20 percent toll to pass through.
He accused that Iran is violating its deal with Washington and warned of a strong military response.
Meanwhile, Iran Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi said, Tehran has always protected the Strait and warned against any foreign interference.
Iran has also reportedly launched cruise missile attacks on two oil tankers in Omani waters, killing one Indian sailor.
