The accident occurred on Tuesday night at Dariakandi Bus Stand area in Kuliarchar upazila on the Bhairab–Kishoreganj regional highway. 

The deceased was identified as Parvez Mia, a constable of Bhairab Highway Police Station. 

According to police, a highway police team was responding to a reported CNG auto-rickshaw accident. 

On the way, their pickup was parked on the roadside to inflate a tire when a cargo truck crashed into the vehicle from behind and overturned onto it. 

Parvez Mia crushed to death at the scene.
